Victory: Federal Court Blocks Texas’ Voter ID Law

Voting rights advocates scored a victory today when a federal court rejected Texas' restrictive voter ID law, which could have hurt hundreds of thousands of voters from communities of color who lack the required ID. The Texas decision marks the first time a federal court has blocked a restrictive voter ID law, and the second time this week that Texas has been found to have violated the federal Voting Rights Act.

Texas NAACP Legal Redress Chair, Robert Notzon, talked about the decision on Pacifica UprisingRadio--listen to it here.
